Adopting Mercy Hospice Auckland as your 'Charity of Choice' is an ideal way for your company to focus its charitable activities to make a real difference over the long term.
Case-study: PSIS
PSIS Auckland City and Onehunga branches have adopted Mercy Hospice Auckland as their long-term charity partner. They looked at several
other community based charities in the Auckland area and felt that Mercy Hospice was the right fit with their company values.
PSIS kick-started the partnership by organising a raffle and running a lending promotion with a donation back to hospice.
They went on to become our lead sponsor of the Strawberry Festival by sponsoring all of the marketing costs associated with the event,
and have continued their support by selling our Strawberry Angel decorations and Remembrance Tree baubles in their branches over the Christmas period.
We are delighted to have been adopted as PSIS’s charity of choice and look forward to building on the partnership.

We also have a number of companies who support us by donating product and services.

Dilmah NZ is a long time supporter of hospice. Every year they donate thousands of tea-bags for patients, their families, and staff, and have extended their generous support by sponsoring our inaugural Hospice Cup of Tea Moment this year. The 60 companies and community groups who participated all received a pack which included Dilmah Tea.

Involve your staff
Fundraising at work is fun, motivating and great for team building. There are plenty of ways you can support the work of Mercy Hospice Auckland by involving your staff. How about organising a ‘Dress down day’ or a ‘Hospice Cup of Tea Moment’ in your office? We can provide you with various fundraising materials such as leaflets, posters and collection boxes to support your event.
Staff at DB Breweries got behind Hospice Awareness Week by organising a Cup of Tea Moment in the office, raising $500 in the process. DB have continued their support by donating beer for our Drinks Trolley – a service offered to inpatients and their families at lunchtime and the evening. We are delighted with this support and look forward to an ongoing partnership with DB.

Cause related marketing
Linking your brand or product with Mercy Hospice Auckland is a great way to reinforce your profile as a socially responsible brand, drive sales and raise vital funds for our work.
New World stores in Auckland City were generous supporters of Hospice Awareness Week. Staff asked customers to ‘Add a Dollar’ to their grocery bill during the week which raised $2,900. We are delighted with this result, as well as the awareness gained from posters in the shop windows and check-out areas. Thank you to Rob, Penny, Robert and all their enthusiastic staff who supported the initiative.
