
Education for Families as Carers
Caring for a person with a terminal illness? Need support? Mercy Hospice Auckland runs two 1.5 hour workshops with you in mind.
The workshops are interactive sessions with other carers to discuss the issues you face daily, and resource you for what may be ahead.
Workshop Content:
- Information that will help you to provide care at home
- Looking after yourself
- What supports are available in the hospice and community and how to access them
- Communication skills relating to maintaining your relationship with your partner
- What you can expect throughout this time of illness
- What to do when things go wrong
- How to look after the physical needs at home
Workshop Duration
Two 1.5 hour sessions, 10.30am-12 noon, held 2 consecutive Tuesdays.
Cost
There is no charge for these workshops. Morning tea is provided.
